Music of the 70s is a one-person site. I'm Charlie, and I've been listening to this music since my teenage years in the 1970s. This page explains how the articles, lists and tools here are put together, so you know what you're reading and where it comes from.

Where the Information Comes From

Facts on this site – chart positions, release dates, album details, band lineups and songwriting credits – are checked against published sources such as Billboard chart archives, official artist and label information, album liner notes and credits, and interviews and reference works about the artists. When sources disagree, I go with the most reliable one and note the difference where it matters.

How Articles Are Written

I use AI tools to help with research and first drafts, the same way I use them to help build and run the site. Every article is then fact-checked, edited and approved by me before it's published. The opinions, memories and song picks are my own.

Charts, Lists and Rankings

Year-by-year and "top songs" lists are based on chart performance first. Where a list is a personal pick rather than a chart ranking, the article says so.

Videos and Listening

Songs on this site are played through official YouTube embeds. I don't host or upload any music. If a video is removed or blocked in your country, I replace it when I find out.

Corrections and Updates

I get things wrong sometimes. If you spot an error, let me know through the contact page and I'll check it and fix it. Articles show the date they were last updated.

Independence

Nobody pays me to feature or rank a song or artist. If the site ever carries ads or affiliate links, they won't influence what I write about or how I rank it.
